Pisa Design

Finlandia SPOT cooperates with different partners representing - among the others - Finnish design products! Today we would like to show you the story of Satu Somero and her unique Pisa Deisgn products!"

The Story of Pisa Design It all started in 2003, when a young and inventive entrepreneur and designer, Satu Somero, started to weave table textiles in her own living room. She wanted to make traditional handicraft with a modern twist – to produce high-quality textiles that would find their way into modern homes. It took some years and lots of creativity and willpower to create the extensive range of high-quality products the company makes today. Since she started, the collection has expanded into two lines: high-quality linen textiles and the innovative recycled Pisa Fabric line, which is hand-woven from recycled videotapes and linen in traditional looms. Yes! Old videotapes, can you imagine? Nowadays, Pisa Design product lines include sauna and spa textiles, furnishing textiles, textiles for storage, handbags, laptop, tablet and phone bags, small furniture, travel textiles, as well as kitchen and dining textiles. You name it. All products are developed and ecologically made in Finland and in the Baltics. We hope customers will be delighted with their Pisa Design products. And because we care, we want to ensure the products we make are safe for customers, the environment and for the people who make them.
